The Short of it…

I grew up in a military family and subsequently never spent longer than three years in one spot until I was ten and my father retired in Oregon. Now fourteen years and a different home for each of the five years I spent in college later, I’ve discovered that I am incapable of settling down indefinitely. The solution? Teaching English overseas. Location? One month in Pnomh Penh, Cambodia, and then a twelve month contract with a private school in Changchun City, in the frigid grasslands of China. This of course, turned into 3.5 years in schools in a completely different city, Dandong. And marriage to a local Chinese man. I mean, these things happen, right?
